On the 23/11/2021 I officially began filming for my documentary. I spent the day at the Hot Radio studios filming the day to day running of the studio and what the place looks like.
I used both a video camera and my phone with a stabiliser to get different styles, angles and other varieties of shots.
The reason I used both was because although the camera was good quality and could get some cool footage, the stabiliser/ phone was a lot smaller and easier to move around meaning it could get different styles of shots that the video camera could not.
The first purpose of this filming day was to gather lots of filler shots that I could use to break up sections of my documentary, make it more fun to watch and use in the intro. Things such as disco lights, DJ decks and funky studio pans.
The other purpose of this filming day was to film the Hot Radio Drive time show by Jay Rachet and the Hot Gold drive time show by Marinella Lazzeri. Both of these presenters gave me permission prior to the day to film their shows as well as to teach me about the station, the shows and how social media has an impact on both.
I learned a lot from both of them and also got some incredible footage to use in my documentary.
