Due to set backs mentioned in other blog posts, I had to re-think my script, how much presenting/ talking I would be doing as well as the way I would explain how and why social media has certain effects for a local radio station.
I choose to have me explain the majority of the points spoken about in a summarised yet still informative way meaning my script would run throughout the entire documentary and I would either present to camera or voice over all key points within it.
I needed my script to be engaging, interesting but still explain the key points of how and why to use social media to those who may not know or understand it.
Also with my target audience being on the younger side I tried to make my script punchy and upbeat so that they wouldn't get bored or tune out half way through. As a part of the younger generation myself I know how easy it is to tune out or get bored during documentaries if the content is not interesting or the script isn't upbeat enough.
I went over and over my script making sure the language used was professional but still engaging and I also made sure that I included all the key journalist information I needed for it to be informative and a successful journalist piece.
The main struggle I faced while writing my script was fitting in all the information needed but still keeping the timings under 7 minutes. I had to summarise what I had planned to say multiple times and delate extra elements that I had hoped to talk about so that the key points fitted in. However, despite that being a struggle after a while of editing I managed to get an interesting, factual and upbeat script that fitted within the 7 minute time constraint.
